Installers can benefit from new Covid app

As we recently reported, a recent survey found that 47% of respondents had had jobs cancelled due to either themselves or their customers being ‘pinged’ and in one sector alone reports say that, at one time during the pandemic, there were up to 11% of the UK’s 120,000 gas engineers in isolation, resulting in a staggering 13,200 off work – a number that simply cannot continue as we swiftly approach the colder months.

Worcester bosch CSC covid app for installers

Peace of mind for employees and installers

The CSC App provides complete visibility for both employer and employee, giving the workforce complete peace of mind that the working environment is as safe as possible. The new software allows people to take a quick and easy test and log their result in the app, before heading back to work on the result of a negative test.

Allan Ovington, service engineering manager at Worcester Bosch, said: “We used the CSC App to better control the safe working of Field Service Engineers and Apprentices who have had to work in pairs during the Coronavirus Pandemic. Giving these colleagues the opportunity to regularly take Lateral Flow Tests, and the ability to demonstrate their negative status to each other on the App, has given them greater confidence to work together.

“Although we have a number of safe working protocols in place for our Engineers operating in people’s homes, this added tool for those team members who have to travel in the same vehicle between jobs, and work together, sometimes in close proximity; has been a useful extra benefit during these challenging months. Because I also received a notification each time a test was completed and uploaded onto our company portal, it gave me the visibility that the process was being followed by the field teams, which in turn has supported our confidence that we’ve been able to continue supporting our customers as safely as possible.”

James Hyslop, founder of the CSC App added: “It’s great to hear the app has been of huge benefit to Worcester Bosch. It’s a massive company that contributes heavily to the British economy and the only way that it will be able to continue to do that is if it can have its full workforce available.

“Businesses have suffered so much since the start of the pandemic and those that managed to survive and pull through were soon hit by the ‘Pingdemic’ and the barriers that come with it. This is why we were so keen to provide a solution that will allow the UK to fulfil its full potential once again.”
