Ideal Heating has partnered with suicide prevention charity Andy’s Man Club to help remove the stigma surrounding male mental health.

Breaking the silence on male mental health stigma. Ideal Heating and Andy's Man Club join forces

The new partnership reminds installers that ‘it’s okay to talk.’ encouraging men to speak out about their mental health and support each other through the power of conversation.

Male suicide is the biggest killer of men under 54. On average, one man takes his own life in the UK every two hours.

Ideal Heating has teamed up with Andy’s Man Club to help installers across the UK, signposting them to available services and promoting positive mental wellbeing.

Part of the family

Andy’s Man Club representatives will join Ideal Heating at The Plumbing & Heating Exhibition (PHEX) in Manchester on October 18th and 19th, speaking to visitors about their work.

Luke Pykett, head of marketing at Ideal Heating, said: “We want all of the installers we work with across the UK to feel like they’re part of the Ideal family.

“That’s why we’re delighted to be teaming up with Andy’s Man Club to make sure our community has all the tools and support it needs, should anyone wish to speak out about their mental health.

“Andy’s Man Club helps men up and down the country, every single day, and with this partnership, we’re proud to be playing our part in helping those within the heating industry.”

Andy’s Man Club has over 120 free support groups nationwide, running every Monday from 7pm except bank holidays.

With more than 2,800 men attending sessions every week, Andy’s Man Club is designed to be free of pressure. There’s no obligation to speak; men can simply turn up and listen.

Turn up and listen

The charity has a team of more than 900 volunteers, working together to remind men that #ItsOkayToTalk.

Lucas Whitehead, marketing and partnerships champion at Andy’s Man Club, said: “We are always looking for new and innovative ways to spread the word on our groups and our message.

“Suicide remains the biggest killer of men under the age of 54 and, even more shockingly, men working in high-skilled trades are the second most likely of all occupational groups to take their own life.

“To have the opportunity to be in front of these men regularly at roadshows, trade events and through the content we create will undoubtedly allow us to impact more lives in a positive way.

“A massive thanks to Ideal Heating and to Groupe Atlantic for all their support. As a donation-led charity, it means the world and will help us get a step closer to showing every man in the UK that #ItsOkayToTalk.”
