Octopus and Legal & General investment in ground source tech will drive down costs and kick start the sector.
Vital Energi wins European Heat Pump Association award for Castle Park.
Great news for those entering the sector as Vital Energi and the city of Liverpool College have joined forces for the second year to deliver renewable energy and heat network apprenticeships across the UK.
Connecting multiple buildings via a series of insulated pipes to distribute low carbon heat is not a new concept, and neither is the use of heat pumps to provide the heat source. However, the sector is starting to see these two technologies come together on a more regular basis.
Over £165 million of Heat Networks Investment Project (HNIP) funding has been awarded since the scheme opened for applications in 2019. The most recent recipient is Kent County Council who has secured £2,478,000 to support the development of a low carbon heat network in Maidstone.
