Solar Energy UK at Recruitment Zone

Major solar and energy storage businesses will seek to fill dozens of vacancies at the Recruitment Zone at Solar & Storage Live London later this month.

Major solar and energy storage businesses will be filling dozens of vacancies at the Recruitment Zone during Solar & Storage Live London, sponsored by SSE Renewables. The event is set for 29-30 April at the Excel Centre in Docklands, following its successful introduction at the NEC last autumn.

Sponsored by SSE Renewables, the zone was launched successfully at Solar & Storage Live at the NEC last autumn, attracting long queues of job seekers eager to join the industry or further their careers. Over a hundred jobs are expected to be available.

Solar & Storage Live London, to be held from 29 to 30 April at the Excel Centre in Docklands, is a new conference and exhibition. It will supplement the established event at the NEC, which will run from 24 to 26 September this year.

In addition to SSE Renewables, solar farm business British Solar Renewables and commercial and utility-scale solar power developer Elgin Energy will be at the Recruitment Zone, and more are expected to confirm in the coming weeks.

After registering for your free pass to Solar & Storage Live London, you can book a meeting for any Recruitment Zone job vacancy via the event app. Booked meetings will be available from 10 am. Walk-in visitors will be accepted, although prior bookings will take priority.

The Solar Taskforce’s upcoming roadmap, which strongly emphasises developing vital workforce skills, is a crucial step towards achieving our goal of delivering 70GW of generation capacity by 2035. This ambitious target necessitates a significant expansion of our workforce, from the current 10,000 to an estimated 60,000.

Be part of the green revolution

“At Solar Energy UK, we are committed to opening career pathways for job seekers interested in the solar industry. Recruitment Zone hosts a selection of the UK’s leading renewables businesses with live job vacancies, open for job seekers to meet and discuss roles they are interested in applying for”, said Sturge Mazzocchi, head of partnerships and Business Development at Solar Energy UK.

“To build our workforce for our growing industry, we encourage candidates with transferrable work experience, skills and qualifications who are interested in the renewables industry to attend. You could be part of the green revolution,” he added.

“SSE Renewables is delighted to continue our sponsorship of the recruitment zone along with our partners at Solar Energy UK. To meet the nation’s ambitious targets, it is imperative that we support the industry to grow. Large industry events such as Solar and Storage Live provide the perfect platform to engage with the renewables workforce of tomorrow,” said SSE Renewables’ marketing manager Chris Stewart.
