Ideal Heating triumphs at inaugural HPM Awards

Ideal Heating has received the prestigious Training and Product Support award at the HPM Awards 2024 in Manchester.

Ideal Heating was recognised at the HPM Awards 2024, receiving the Training and Product Support award for their contributions to heat pump training and support.

Ideal Heating was recognised for its commitment to exceptional training and support around heat pumps, driving the decarbonisation of heating and upskilling the UK’s installer workforce to become low carbon engineers.

The company is close to completing a three-year investment plan centred around engineer training and dedicated heat pump support.

Ideal Heating’s training arm, Expert Academy, has 22 training facilities stretching from Fife in Scotland to Dorset on the south coast of England.

Best-in-class

The business last year unveiled its showpiece £2.2m National Training and Technology Centre in Hessle, East Yorkshire – creating an industry-leading facility for installers to gain hands-on experience and knowledge of working with heat pumps. A dedicated support service for installers reinforces ideal’s best-in-class training.

Ideal’s in-house heat pump engineer team are on the road around the UK to provide a rapid response to any requests. The team also offers video and phone call assistance, improving the efficiency and speed of support.

At a glittering awards ceremony held at Manchester’s Midland Hotel, Ideal Heating was named Training and Product Support winner at the HPM Awards 2024.

Andrew Johnson, training director at Ideal Heating, said: “We’re delighted that our commitment to training, skills and customer support has been recognised at the HPM Awards.

“We have taken a huge amount of care and pride in the training courses we offer to installers who are embarking on their own low carbon journey. The facilities we offer are truly industry-leading, and this award recognises a huge commitment from our entire training team.

“Wrapped around that is our dedicated heat pump support team. Aftersales of heat pumps in the UK has long been something of a hot potato – at Ideal Heating, we’re working hard to change that and provide a first-class service to our customers.”

A year of awards

Brothers George and Harry Carter, from SJD Mechanical Services Contractors, were among the first installers to experience Ideal’s National Training and Technology Centre.

They said: “The facilities and equipment are brand new and cared for, and the tutors are excellent. It’s a really pleasant environment to learn in and we’ve also found we get more time with the tutors than we have in other places.  When you combine all of that, it’s the best option out there for installers.”
