LG achieves quiet mark for Therma V Monobloc ‘s’

LG Electronics has been awarded the Quiet Mark accreditation for its leading air-to-water heat pump – the Therma V Monobloc S.

LG Electronics has been awarded the Quiet Mark accreditation for its leading air-to-water heat pump – the Therma V Monobloc "S".

LG was previously awarded the Quiet Mark for a wide range of more than 100 home appliances. However, this is the first air solutions product to receive the accolade and now joins the esteemed lineup of Quiet Mark-certified products available from LG.

Quiet Mark is the independent global certification programme associated with the UK Noise Abatement Society charitable foundation. Through scientific testing and assessment, Quiet Mark identifies the quietest products in multiple categories spanning many sectors, including home appliances and technology, building sector materials and commercial sector products. Quiet Mark certification is the unique consumer and trade champion mark of approval and resource platform.

It provides reliable and independent information about a product’s sound and an approved noise reduction performance before purchase, primarily focusing on improving health and wellbeing. It stimulates manufacturing worldwide to prioritise responsible acoustic design to reduce noise pollution.

Working from home creates a need for quieter tech

As a result of the Covid lockdowns, everyone worldwide is now spending more time living and working at home. The search for quieter technology has now become a priority. Excess noise can increase stress levels, disturb sleep, reduce productivity, impede health recovery and impair human relations. By choosing quieter technology and effective acoustic solutions, a serene backdrop can be created to rebalance well-being at home, work, and every living space.

By awarding the Quiet Mark to the new LG Therma V Monobloc ‘S’ it confirms that the R32 Monobloc S is one of the quietest and most technically effective products in noise reduction or acoustic properties available on the market in its category.

This new ‘S’ version set unparalleled sales figures in 2022 as more and more housebuilders and developers, local authorities and social housing providers moved to use renewable options in their new build homes and began the process of replacing older and inefficient gas boilers with an option that future proofs their new and existing homes in the years ahead.

Futureproofing homes

The LG R32 Monobloc ‘S’ air-to-water heat pump range offers lower noise levels per unit by up to 3dB(A) compared to the previous model. And includes an integral Compressor Noise Shield, a key feature across the full lineup.

Adopting BLDC inverter motor technology and an improved fan and orifice achieves low noise and high performance.

The unit has a Seasonal Coefficient of Performance of up to 4.67 (Average climate/low-temperature application) and a A+++ rating. The COP rises to 4.9 (Outdoor air 7°C/Leaving water temperature 35°C) and can deliver leaving water temperature of 65°C if required.
