North West’s first heat pump discovery event 

Freedom Heat Pumps, based in Bamber Bridge, one of the largest distributors of Heat Pumps in the UK hosted their first heat pump discovery recently at Brockholes Nature Reserve.

The aim of the event was to provide local plumbers and heating engineers with the information, skills and support they need to develop their business and start installing heat pumps. 

Presentations from Katherine Fletcher MP South Ribble, Ian Rippin CEO of MCS and Bean Beanland director of HPF provided delegates with the detail on the world of heat pumps, the Government vision and policy and the basic skill requirements to join the industry. 

The team also brought together key agencies who could provide our delegates with details of the training support, business grants and products. 

Events planned for the rest of the UK 

Exhibitors and heat pumps were available on site from Midea, Samsung, Hitachi, RED and Clausius. Training providers provided details on the funded training that is available for business to upskill. Details of the grants and business support available for the move into renewable energy. 

The majority of those attending agreed that the event dispelled all the myths and some of the negativity around heat pumps and intend to develop their businesses by upskilling and moving into installing heat pumps. 

Further events are being planned for other areas in the UK.
