Job title: director and solar PV installer

Location: Bedfordshire

Your company/business in one line: Gechnology Power the future working alongside SolarEdge

My alarm goes off at …
6AM

The first thing I do each day is …
Have a green tea and check the weather forecast for the day ahead.

I prepare for the day ahead by …
Checking over my diary and paperwork required for the day, including customer details, design work, specifications and any site-specific details. I’ll go through my checklist of parts needed for the day and make sure they are on the van ready.

I can’t leave the house without …
My phone/laptop and testing equipment, as I need these for commissioning and maintaining each job alongside the SolarEdge software.

My most memorable work moment …
Working for a family who wanted to reduce their carbon footprint and take their home off grid as much as possible. Using Gechnology and SolarEdge technology I designed and installed a smart solar home system including, solar PV panels, battery storage, a solar EV charger and a solar PV hot water system. This project managed to get the customer a 90% reduction in their home energy costs.

The solar PV system generates over a 100% of their annual needs, the excess solar electricity generated gets stored in their battery storage unit to use the electricity during the day or night, the solar EV charger charges their car from solar electricity and the grid letting them drive on the suns energy and finally the solar PV hot water system heats the family’s hot water from solar energy alongside their heating system.  This project was a great success ad it was even covered on the BBC.

Since then, my team and I at Gechnology, install these systems every week for residential and business customers.
