Caplor Energy and Wynnstay – greener future for farmers

Caplor Energy has joined forces with Wynnstay as their recommended partner for renewable energy advice and installations for their agricultural customers across England and Wales.

The partnership provides Wynnstay’s extensive customer base of farmers and growers the opportunity to generate and store their own renewable electricity on their farms or at home and save money by installing green technology with a trusted installer.

Wynnstay partnership Caplor Energy aims to not only help farmers to reduce their carbon footprint, but also provide reduced ongoing energy costs at a time when margins are particularly tight.

Farmers are considering their environmental impact

Based on clear climate change evidence and targets to reach net zero emissions by 2050, many farmers are now considering the social and environmental impact of their activities in addition to the economic benefits and overall business profitability. Today, it is much easier for farmers to make the right choices to reduce their bills, protect themselves from future energy rises and also demonstrate a commitment to carbon efficiency and longer-term sustainability.

But, what many farmers may not realise is that installing renewable energy solutions such as solar PV, renewable heating, battery storage or solar thermal, could actually be the best investment they will ever make. With rising energy costs, payback periods for renewable energy systems can be as quick as 3-4 years. When you add that to ongoing energy security and a potential 40-year lifespan on solar PV systems, for example, it increasingly makes economic sense to consider the change.

Making the right decision to reduce your impact

Helping to reach the country’s sustainability goals is not as difficult as it may seem and making the right decisions can actually be good business for your farm. It doesn’t have to cost a fortune to be sustainable, we just need to play our part with a hugely increased sense of urgency.

From their base at Caplor Farm in the beautiful Wye Valley, Caplor Energy are acutely aware of the effects of climate change on our environment. With a rich farming heritage and strong values to deliver inspired, sustainable improvement for our future, the team at Caplor Energy are passionate advocates of renewable energy.

Neil Evans, managing director, Caplor Energy said: “We are thrilled and excited to be working in partnership with Wynnstay. Their values and culture blend well with ours and we look forward to being able to help Wynnstay customers in the agricultural community to deliver a brighter, more sustainable future through renewable energy.”
