UK Pellet Council (UKPC) has launched new training film outlining Do's and Don'ts when designing wood pellet stores and delivery mechanisms

Following the rise in popularity of biomass sparked by the RHI, the UK Pellet Council says it is determined to ensure that the highest standards are delivered in this expansion phase.
Other key messages from the film include the importance of providing good pellet delivery access, reducing delivery pipework and bends, and designing for soft delivery of fuel through gentle pipe bends and well-placed pellet mats.
John Westmacott, chair of UKPC, said: “This is essential viewing. For just a few minutes of your time, it will help designers and installers of pellet systems avoid costly mistakes.
“While there are now more than 10,000 very good wood pellet boiler and fuel supply systems in the UK and customer satisfaction levels are high, there are also a number of projects that are sub-standard, these are the ones we want to eliminate.”
