Panasonic partnered with Logicool to replace the team’s old kit; and already, the positive effects of the gesture are being felt across the team. The kit has reignited a sense of pride in the team and the players have already pulled together for their first win in five matches following a string of very close defeats.
Marc Diaz, UK and Ireland country manager for Panasonic Heating and Cooling, said: “We are always looking for opportunities to engage with local communities and we’re delighted that we were able to help Ashby RFC with our contacts at Logicool.”
Karl Richardson, managing director of Logicool, volunteers for the Club, and spoke about the impact of the new kit on team morale: “This week they were presented with a full set of new shirts co-sponsored by Logicool and Panasonic. The sight of the shirts gave the players a massive lift and they ran out with their heads held high, ready to do battle!
“We can’t say whether the shirts influenced the result, however, a 52-0 hammering of Long Eaton, with all boys clutching their shirts with pride, was a real joy to see. There’s certainly something to be said for a smart, cohesive team.”
