Since the partnership began in 2012, staff members from BSS branches, National Distribution Centres and its Leicestershire head-office have worked tirelessy to support the worthy cause. Each of the 62 BSS branches is partnered with a local hospice meaning all money raised locally goes straight to a hospice in their community. Bernie Nolan, at Help The Hospices expressed his gratitude for “the overwhelming support” stating that: “The £100,000 raised by the BSS team will make a huge difference to hospices across the UK.”
Innovative ideas such as donating costs from selling surplus tools or putting money in a collection tin in addition to fancy dress days and bake sales. The most recent event saw BSS directors and colleagues along with several customers take on the ’10 Munros of the Mamores Ridge’ in Scotland where they raised over £5000. Chris Hufflett, BSS Industrial Managing Director, congratulates his colleagues for their assistance in “fantastic fundraising events that will help hospices up and down the country.” He also encourages any more donations as the company plans to increase their total for Help The Hospices over the next few months for a summer of sport “packed with themed fundraising activities”.
