Rural Energy reports that its biomass boilers are among the first in the UK to pass emissions tests set by Ofgem.

The firm’s Herz range, including the Herz Pelletstar, Firematic, BioMatic and BioFire boilers, now have Ofgem’s Renewable Heat Incentive Energy Performance Certificate – which means they qualify for the government’s green energy cash boost.

Biomass boilers that don’t have the certificate or an environmental permit will not qualify for RHI payments.

Managing director Paul Clark said: “This is great news for our company and our customers, as we continue to grow and develop biomass as a tried and tested source of renewable energy technology across the UK.

“The Pelletstar, Firematic, BioFire and BioMatic boilers have all passed this important emissions test and are among the first to meet standardised requirements in the UK.

“It is a testament to their quality and the technical expertise that has gone into developing them. That expertise sets Herz and Rural Energy apart from other biomass firms.”
