Fresh changes announced for RHI

The government has today announced an expansion the non-domestic RHI and confirmed tariffs for its domestic counterpart, due for launch in spring.

The results of its consultations on the non-domestic RHI are as follows:

-The inclusion of new technologies including air to water heat pumps (2.5p/kWh), biogas (200-600kW 5.9p/kWh, >600kW 2.2p/kWh) and deep geothermal (5p/kWh)
-Increase in tariffs for large scale biomass (2p/kWh), solar thermal (10p/kWh) and GSHP (8.7p/kWh tier 1 and 2.6p/kWh tier 2)

Tariff levels for the domestic RHI are:

-ASHP (7.3p/kWh) 
-Biomass (12.2p/kWh)
-GSHP (18.8p/kWh)
-Solar thermal (19.2p/kWh)
