The 55kW wind turbine has been developed by ex-Volvo engineers using technology normally found in larger turbines.
As part of the introduction of the 55kW turbine into the industry EC Wind has agreed to underwrite a performance guarantee on the first 20 turbines sold. The turbine also comes with a 7 year warranty.
David Taylor, UFW business development manager heading up the EC Wind project, said: “Obtaining the distribution rights to EC Wind opens a whole new chapter within the development of wind energy in the UK and Ireland. The EC Wind 55kW is the highest performing product on the market with a 7 year warranty, which is the longest in the industry and together with the unparalleled performance guarantee allows for a secure investment. In most cases a return on the capital investment will be realised within the warranty period.
