The Centre for Alternative Technology has announced that its new HETAS approved short course for biomass installers will start in spring.

The first course of 2013 will begin March 25 and includes full board accommodation on-site in the award winning WISE building. The course covers modern wood fuelled heating as well as boiler installation and control systems. Participants will be enabled to professionally advise on fuel types, safe storage options & system design.

Participants will use commissioned boilers in a specially designed training facility whilst hands-on training will be complemented by class-room based theory and study.

There are three biomass installer courses this year at CAT. The second course is taking place late in July while the final course of 2013 will be in the first week of October.

Attendance of the short course will cost £1,000 (inc VAT), which includes accommodation, materials and fees. A one day course is also available for qualified heating engineers or plumbers who have yet to complete the HETAS H003 and H004.
