Raising the roof: Flue and chimney supplier Specflue will now offer heat pump and solar thermal installation courses from its training centre in Sudbury
Flue and chimney supplier Specflue has announced the launch of its new solar thermal and heat pump courses for installers.

Specflue will now offer BPEC Solar Thermal Installer certificates and BPEC Heat Pump Installer certificates both run over four days at the company’s training centre in Sudbury.

Jed Smith, Specflue’s training manager, said: “NVQs have always been the standard entry level qualification, however, a more academic focus under the umbrella of the Quality Credit Framework (QCF) has been introduced, via the sector skills councils.

“Attendees will benefit from our investment in state of the art facilities within a real working environment, rather than simulated situations, and actual practical equipment to use and understand.

“We are proud to lead the way in standards of training and delivery for the construction industry as well as stating the case for renewables. The QCF format improves the level of installations and is pro-active in setting the best standards, backed by MCS accreditation. The aim is to show that it is not simply quick and easy money. Installers must translate it in to consumer confidence.”
