Laura Bishop, a well-known figure in the heat pump sector, is a welcome addition to our ‘Day in the life’ segment. Laura is chair at the Ground Source Heat Pump Association, founder and MD at Infinitas Design, and was recently crowned ‘Woman of the Year’ at the National ACR and Heat Pump Awards.

The Ground Source Heat Pump Association (GSHPA) is set to launch an online training scheme to increase understanding of heat pumps
As the heat pump market matures, a significant increase in heat pump deployment is anticipated, meaning that the demand on the network will also rise. It is vital that network operators have visibility of where heat pump units are connected, to effectively manage the low voltage network to maintain a secure supply.
Facilitated by Low Carbon Homes, there are a number of events taking place throughout June and July. Each event is hosted by influential partners and guided by an advisory board of stakeholder representatives to determine event outputs and programme content in order to support the next steps of scaling up heat decarbonisation, locally.
Whilst the Green Homes Grant has come in for a great deal of criticism, and has struggled to attract installers, partly because of the terms and conditions, and partly because of the apparent failings in its administration, the scheme has successfully raised consumer awareness of heat pump technology to a level that no other intervention to date has achieved.
