Grant UK to showcase current and future heating tech at leading industry event
Grant UK has announced the addition of the Uflex and Uflex MINI overlay system to its underfloor heating range.
Grant’s HVO biofuel compatible Grant Vortex condensing boiler has been awarded ‘best renewable energy product’ at the SEAI Energy Show 2022.
Two new controls will be available to suit both the Uflex and Uflex MINI underfloor systems and the popular PEX-AL-PEX pipe will also be available from Grant UK for use with Uflex installations.
One thing we can be certain of is that tomorrow’s heating sector will look different to the one we currently know. The goal of net zero has been set but the path we will follow to achieve these carbon targets is less certain as there are multiple routes available for us to take. Government legislation is being prepared to steer the heating industry into a new era, where traditional fossil fuel systems will need to make way for more sustainable solutions. It is therefore, the responsibility of manufacturers, such as Grant, to support and provide installers with viable low carbon heating products, which can effectively meet their customers’ requirements while also reducing emissions.

The TechX Clean Energy Accelerator supports companies developing innovative, transformative technologies that can accelerate the transition to a net zero energy industry. The Centre particularly seeks to support start-ups with diverse founder teams. Technology focus areas for the accelerator include renewable energy technologies, green and blue hydrogen and other clean fuels, carbon capture, usage and storage (CCUS), digitalisation and technologies that reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the oil and gas industry.
The development of two three-bedroom houses and four two-bedroom flats near Helston, Cornwall was granted permission based on the homes being made available to people who are local or who have strong connections to the parish area. The ethos of the build was to create homes for the local community that would be both affordable and sustainable and to ensure planning requirements were met, renewable heating systems were required.
With the company’s clients stipulating that the new heating systems for their refurbished building units needed to be renewable, Heatforce shares details of a recent air source heat pump installation in Wales.
A pivotal part of an air source heat pump installation is the customer handover. This procedure involves the installing engineer showing their customer how their new heat pump works and demonstrating the parts of the system an end-user needs to understand in order to achieve and maintain the desired comfort levels with their heating and hot water. To support this key stage, Grant UK has developed a Handover Guide for their Aerona³ air source heat pumps which will be supplied with each unit alongside the installation manual and will support the installer onsite with their handover processes.
This Wiltshire home was extended to transform the property into a five-bedroom house. When the homeowners started this project, they decided to take the opportunity to add a renewable technology into their heating system by utilising the additional roof space being created by the extension. A Grant solar thermal system was chosen and installed, helping the family to not only significantly reduce their carbon footprint but also lower their monthly heating bills.
Grant UK has launched a new virtual house, featuring a range of Grant renewable heating technologies, on its online Knowledge Hub. Visitors can step inside this virtual reality to see how readily installed Grant heat pumps, cylinders, radiators and underfloor heating systems can be integrated to work together in the home.
