Following on from the government’s announcement of the Heat and Buildings strategy, leading manufacturers in the industry have welcomed the focus of direction and positive vision for a low carbon future.
Two homes in Low Thornley, near Gateshead will show the use of hydrogen-fuelled appliances in a real-world setting and today Baxi invited housing providers and colleagues to see its boiler in action.
The award, from the Innovation category was awarded for the Lancashire-based company’s hydrogen boiler, which was developed as part of its commitment to move away from traditional nature gas fired boilers in order to be a cleaner, greener manufacturing business.
The site has been used to complete more than 200 tests, researching and proving the safety of converting homes and gas networks to hydrogen.
Leading boiler manufacturer, Baxi Heating UK and Ireland, part of BDR Thermea Group, has promised to revolutionise the way we heat our homes and buildings. The announcement coincides with the Prime Minister’s 10-point plan for a Green Industrial Revolution and places Baxi Heating at the heart of the ‘heating transformation’ that is required to achieve the UK’s climate targets.
