Government launches online heat pump installer guide

The Government has released a useful online guide aimed at helping consumers find an MCS Certified heat pump installer.

The online tool, which can be filtered by location and skill, emphasises the importance of choosing a suitably qualified tradesperson to install low carbon heating systems.

Government advice is that an MCS-certified installer should be used when government funding is applied for through the Boiler Upgrade Scheme.

Technically competent installers

Selecting a certified engineer via the tool ensure that they are technically competent, and the products they use meet the correct standards

MCS-certified installers must also be registered with a consumer protection scheme such as RECC or HIES, so customers are protected should anything go wrong.
