Daikin UK has launched two new training courses for the new Daikin Altherma Hybrid heat pump, designed to help installers take advantage of opportunities presented by the domestic Renewable Heat Incentive (dRHI).

The one day hybrid course is open to MCS installers who are already trained to install the Daikin Altherma Low Temperature Split system. Alternatively, a two day course is available for those MCS installers wishing to train on both the Hybrid and LT heat pump systems.

Eddie Gilbert, managing director of Oxfordshire-based Green living Energy, is one installer who has already attended a Daikin Altherma Hybrid heat pump training course.

“The training was excellent and provided everything we needed on the day,” he said. “The hybrid system has opened up a huge market and with the introduction of the domestic RHI, renewables systems such as this will become much more appealing to homeowners.”

John Durbin, training manager, Daikin UK, added: “MCS accredited installers are in greater demand following the launch of the domestic RHI. Those undertaking training on the Daikin Altherma hybrid system will be among the first to be able to target a much wider market of homeowners who are looking to replace their gas and LPG boilers.”

Installers attending the Daikin Altherma Hybrid heat pump training will receive a sales and marketing support toolkit, including marketing literature, DVDs, a MCS heat loss calculator, Daikin selection software tool and an MCS020 noise calculator.

The courses are held at Daikin’s training centres in Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham, Woking and Bristol.
