REC panels receive PID certification

REC
REC has announced increased certification for potential-induced degradation (PID) resistance of its modules.

The company says its panels are already certified to TÜV Rheinland standards, but recent testing certified by the Solar Energy Research Institute of Singapore (SERIS) has subjected its panels to even harsher PID-test conditions.

These include: negative voltage of 1,000 volts, ambient temperature of 60°C, relative humidity of 85 percent and a test period of 96 hours.

Luc Graré, REC’s senior vice president solar sales and marketing, said: “We are very proud to be one of only a few manufacturers passing the PID test at this protocol and doing so with such excellent results.

“Consistent high yield, quality, and durability are of utmost importance in today’s market and our outstanding performance in this demanding test clearly demonstrates that REC solar panels are among the best in the industry.”
