Architect and TV presenter George Clarke will open the Practical Installer arena at Ecobuild 2013.

Produced by Plumb Center in association with Ecobuild, Practical Installer is a ‘working’ showcase demonstrating the installation and operation of renewable and energy efficiency products in a retro-fit environment – complete with an illustration of energy saving and financial support provided via Green Deal, Feed-in Tariff and Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI).

George is best known to the general public for his TV shows The Restoration Man and The Home Show, where he looks at the design and architectural possibilities of people’s homes. He has also hosted shows such as The Empty Homes Show. George also has his own architectural company.

At this unique event, industry manufacturers – including Vaillant, Honeywell, Grundfos, Kingspan, Worcester Bosch, Baxi, Fernox, Grant, Uponor, Heatrae Sadia, Glow-worm, Dimplex and JA Solar – will come together to show how, in a retro-fit environment, these technologies integrate with products already familiar to installers.

George Clarke said: “It’s a crucial time for the UK construction industry, as the government focuses on improving the energy efficiency of the country’s 26 million existing homes. I’m really excited to be opening Practical Installer at Ecobuild, which will demonstrate the practicalities and potential cost savings of fitting homes with a range of energy efficiency technologies.”

Registration is now open for free tickets to Ecobuild, which runs from 5-7 March 2013, online at ecobuild.co.uk.
