Green Deal with it

The government has unveiled ‘Green Deal with it’ as the name of the national communications campaign being launched today to boost consumer awareness of Green Deal.

The slogan will be used to spearhead the energy efficiency scheme’s £2m advertising and marketing campaign which, alongside the government’s £125m cashback offer, is aimed at spreading the message to consumers and stimulating demand for Green Deal certified assessors, installers and providers.

Deputy prime minister Nick Clegg and energy secretary Ed Davey agreed that the Green Deal presented an unprecedented opportunity for homeowners to lower carbon emissions and insulate themselves from the weather and steadily climbing energy bills.

“The Green Deal will help thousands of homes stay warm for less,” said Mr Clegg.

“Those people will benefit from energy saving improvements – and their energy bills will fall.

“The Green Deal will support thousands of jobs – not just over the next few years, but in the long term.”

Mr Davey added: “More and more families are being hit by the rising cost of fuel bills and the best way people can protect themselves from increased costs is to use less energy. This is where the Green Deal comes in, giving people a whole new way to pay for energy saving home improvements.

“The Green Deal is a great deal. Improve the look and feel of your home, make it cosier and at the same time save energy – what’s not to like?”
