Impressive CV: Roy Oxley joins Waxman’s training team following a 30 year career in electrical training and installation
Waxman Training Academy is strengthening its team with the appointment of Roy Oxley.

Oxley joins Waxman with an enviable CV and a career spanning 30 years, working with some of the world’s most recognisable brands in both training and installation. He is an MCS Auditor for Benchmark Certification and NICEIC – the electrical contracting industries independent voluntary body for electrical installation, and is also a past president and fellow of then Institute of Domestic  Heating and Environmental Engineers (IDHEE).

Oxley heads up the specialist Waxman Training Academy, which is recognised as an ‘Approved Institute of Domestic Heating and Environmental Engineers’ training centre. The centre offers accredited courses in a selection of renewable technologies covering biomass, solar thermal, air & ground source heat pumps and solar PV. In addition, the academy can offer 1 and 2 day courses in G3 unvented hot water, WRAS water regulations, and safety when working at heights, providing candidates with all the necessary attributes for a career in renewable energy installation.

Speaking on his appointment, Oxley said: “Waxman is passionate about educating installers on the importance of embracing eco-friendly solutions and together we aim to position the academy as a centre of excellence.

“The centre boasts state of the art facilities and we are positive that the Academy’s outstanding reputation will encourage more people to come and broaden their knowledge, which will in turn strengthen installers’ own businesses.”

Richard Waxman, chairman of the Waxman Group added: “Roy has extensive experience working within the renewables training industry and is extremely enthusiastic about the set-up at the Academy. We offer a hands-on approach to teaching and look forward to welcoming trainees to the facility.”

The Training Academy is officially approved by the National Association for Professional Inspectors and Testers (NAPIT) as well as the Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineers (CIPHE). All training courses are recognised for the Microgeneration Certification Scheme, meaning Waxman Training Academy can offer support to installers seeking MCS accreditation.
