Civil engineering contractor  JPCS has been recognised for its green credentials in the Cheshire Business Awards.

The company has been short listed in the Green Business category for its excellence in green practice, strategy and product engineering.

This short list announcement comes in the same week the firm has launched its first innovative footway recycling solution, in partnership with Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council and in the same month it completed the foundations for the UK’s biggest ground mounted solar farm.

Peter Shone, managing director of JPCS, said: “It’s fantastic news we’ve been shortlisted for this green accolade. Sustainability is at the core of all we do and it’s so encouraging to be recognised for our innovative environmental practices.

“We’ve worked hard to ensure our services and products minimise the impact on the environment and prolong the life of theUK’s infrastructure.”

The winners of the Cheshire Business Awards 2012 will be announced at an awards ceremony at Chester Racecourse on 5th October.
