Andy Buchan and Watson Carlill, who have 80 years’ experience in the heating and plumbing industry between them, formed Future Renewable Energy (FRE) earlier this year with the aim of sharing their experience with those installers considering making use of renewable heating and hot water technologies.
The pair, who offer seminars nationwide to encourage greater uptake of renewables, have also worked in partnership with manufacturer, Worcester, Bosch Group to produce a DVD aimed at those installers yet to start on the road to renewable installations.
The DVD, which outlines the nine key renewable technologies available in the UK, is split into chapters, allowing installers to access the information they need quickly and easily.
Andy Buchan, co-founder of Future Renewable Energy said: “We produced the DVD having seen just how receptive installers are to information presented in terms they can relate to. As both of us were originally installers with a passion for renewable technologies, we felt a DVD would be an effective way of sharing our expertise with a growing number of like-minded people within the industry.
“With a drive towards a low carbon future now underway, the industry has to work together to ensure that there is sufficient technical expertise to make the most of the technologies available.”
