UFW opens new training centre

UFW has opened a new training centre at its Leicester base.

The company has invested £40,000 in the training facility which offers BPEC industry qualifications in a range of green energy technologies such as ground and air source heat pumps and solar thermal. Further courses available for installers and trade specialists include water regulations, part L and unvented hot water systems.

Managing director Nigel Parkes said: “This is a great opportunity for installers across the region to develop their business and skills in a fast growing industry.

“The USP for our training centre is that we have each technology on site in our 2,000sq ft exhibition centre as well as the technical expertise and on-site support staff to ensure that installers gain the best training possible.

“The investment in the training centre is a key part of our ambitious growth strategy for the next 12 months, which will also see us expanding to other areas of the UK and recruiting more staff. We have had a lot of interest and are offering courses each week for the next three months and are already planning for the rest of 2012. The aim is to bring more than 700 people each year through the centre.”
