Solarlec reports large rise in installations

PV installers Solarlec has reported a significant rise in large scale installations this month compared to this time last year.

The Burnley-based company’s commercial division has seen orders rise by 50 per cent in commercial installations which includes large industrial units, farms, offices, local authority buildings, schools and NHS facilities.

It is Solarlec’s belief that organisations’ fears over rising energy prices is giving rise to the increased number of installations as is shrinking time frame to take advantage of the Feed-in Tariff before its reduction on 01 August.

Director Ged Rowbottom said: “As a business we understand that companies are always looking for new ways to save money.

“Incorporating solar panels into your business energy plan will not only cut costs and generate an impressive tax-free return on your investment through the government Feed-in Tariff, they will also put you ahead of the competition by boosting your eco credentials and minimising your carbon footprint.”

He added: “Your business premises is such a valuable asset and more and more companies are realising they could be maximising its potential by using it to generate free electricity and produce a guaranteed income – we strongly advise businesses to look into solar power while the financial incentive is so attractive.”
