Want to become a Green Deal Advisor?

Asset Skills wants to hear from qualified energy assessors and home inspectors in Great Britain who would like to become one of the first Green Deal Advisors.

The sector skills council has received £1m to ensure that at least 1,000 qualified Green Deal Advisors are ready in time for the launch of the domestic scheme in October and non-domestic in 2013.

Training will start in July which, according to Asset Skills, will include some distance learning. Funding is available although a contribution from from the learner will be required (full costs to be confirmed).

If your organisation is likely to be involved in training new Green Deal Advisors and would like more information on financial support, Asset Skills is hosting a ‘tender briefing workshop’ in central London on Tuesday 08 May (venue to be confirmed).

Organisations likely to benefit from funding support include training companies, FE colleges and local authorities or regional bodies linked to the Green Deal Advisor training.

Those interested in training can register online at http://www.assetskills.org/GreenSkills/GreenDealTrainingRegistration.aspx.
