SolarWorld seeks junior Einsteins

SolarWorld is seeking entries to its 2012 Junior Einstein Award. The prize is awarded annually to promising researchers under the remit of the European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference which recognises scientific achievement.

The SolarWorld Junior Einstein Award will be presented for the seventh time this year with Paul Gundel of Freiberg, Germany scooping it last time round for his work in developing new opto-spectroscopic measurement techniques in the field of PV.

Young scientists are eligible to tender for the award who have produced outstanding work in the field of PV within the scope of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, or a diploma or doctoral thesis. The deadline for applications is June 30, 2012.

Last year’s winner Paul Gundel said: “This award is a big motivation for me for my future career path. I still look back fondly on the award ceremony and the spectacular celebration afterwards. The very experience of standing on a stage with Larry Hagman is unforgettable and reason enough to have competed for the Junior Einstein Award.”
