Energy secretary spreads Green Deal awareness

Energy secretary Edward Davey has been in the North East meeting key players and spreading awareness of Green Deal.

With the energy efficiency project due to launch in October, Davey visited local energy efficiency providers including Carillion and NPower and called on other companies to become part of Green Deal.

Having visited Newcastle Civic Centre and taken part in discussions with council officials about local energy efficiency programmes, Davey stressed the potential for the development of a vibrant innovative and successful new market, stimulating demand and creating tens of thousands of new green jobs.
