Green Electrician opens solar car port

Cheshire-based renewable energy installers Green Electrician Group has announced the completion of a solar car port for electric vehicles.

The solar car port, which is located at the company’s head office in Nantwich, has two charging points for electric vehicles powered by PV panels – making it a carbon neutral way to charge a car.

Stephen Davies, sales director at The Green Electrician, said: “As the cost of energy and fuel continues to rise, consumers and businesses are increasingly turning to renewable sources to save money and improve efficiencies. These solar car ports are already being used extensively in Europe and, when equipped with charge points, demonstrate how renewable energy can offset the costs of day to day living.

“We expect to see more and more electric cars in the area as new ranges come out that make costly trips to garage forecourts a thing of the past, plus businesses can benefit from 100 percent tax brakes from purchasing electric vehicles.”
