Enact Energy reports that it has become the first renewable energy company in Cornwall to achieve Green Deal Provider status.

According to the company, which was set up in 1996, Enact Energy has made over 300,000 energy efficiency upgrades to UK homes by installing solar PV, cavity wall and loft insulation and heating upgrades. The company will now be able to offer access to Green Deal funding and finance plans to homeowners nationwide.

Enact founder and ceo, Adrian Wright, said: “The Green Deal is the government’s new energy initiative which plans for the improvement of the nation’s energy efficient homes and we are delighted to have achieved official Green Deal Provider status which means we can play a full and central role in delivering all of the benefits that the Green Deal offers. To achieve this status we have had to undergo rigorous and stringent assessments so to now have it officially is great news.

“For homeowners it will mean providing everything from initial energy assessments to identify what their property needs, a full range of products to help make their home more efficient, access to Green Deal finance and energy supplier grant funding to help pay for these measures and management of the installations – which we will be delivering in conjunction with our network of fully approved local Green Deal Installers – who we will help become fully accredited.

“As a South West business that has operated, grown and remained in Cornwall since 1996 despite the business increasingly working nationwide, we are particularly pleased to become the first business in Cornwall to achieve Green Deal Provider status,” he added.
