From Watford to Turkmenistan

Heating system manufacturer Viessmann has announced the completion of its largest ever boiler installation in the city of Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan.

According to the company, it took 177 articulated trucks three weeks to travel from Germany to the Central Asia Turkic state and then a further nine months to install the 282 boilers in 125 communal/governmental administration and residential boiler rooms to reach a total installed capacity of 473.26MW.

Viessmann supported from the initial planning stage to the turnkey handover of the completed boiler rooms, managing engineering, timing and logistics, and the construction and modernisation of the boiler rooms.

The 282 boilers are a mix of Viessmann Vitoplex and Vitomax series units with outputs ranging from 600 to 5000 kW, and provide enough heat to cater for 79,395 people, the equivalent of the entire population of Watford.
