Scottish hydro developer undergoes expansion

Green Highland Renewables, the Perth based specialist developer of small to medium scale hydro schemes, has expanded its operations in Scotland with the addition of new senior staff and the opening of a new office in Inverness.

Colin Gilmour joins as construction project manager,  George Cameron as operations and maintenance manager and Lesley Macleod will become financial controller.

Ian Cartwright, managing director of Green Highland Renewables, said: “Adding Colin, George and Lesley brings considerable strength and depth to our already highly skilled staff base, and the opening of a second office in Inverness gives us additional ability to develop, operate and service schemes throughout the Highlands.

“As the leading small to medium sized Scottish hydro developer based in Scotland, we are gearing up further not least to deliver the package of contracts for Forestry Commission Scotland that we have been prospecting and planning over the last 18 months, but also looking towards new opportunities and initiatives as a key contributor to Scotland’s ambitious self-sufficient electricity target by 2020.”
