Keep the noise down

Xylem has launched the Lowara Ecocirc circulator pump – specifically designed for heating solutions in domestic applications.

The company says it can reduce electricity costs by up to 90 percent compared to traditional three-speed pumps, delivering a payback period of 2-3 years.

Xylem adds that the pump has an electronically commutated spherical motor which has only one moving component meaning that it can perform to its maximum abilities after any period of inactivity. Older pumps with more parts can risk seizing up of not regularly used.

The spherical motor design is also shaftless and requires only a single bearing which keeps running noise to a minimum. Other innovative features include a 32 bit microprocessor, a 360° rotation pump head with automatic differential variable speed control. The Ecocirc also contains Xylem’s anti-block technology which seperates the flow of transferred liquid from permanent magnetic parts making the pump less susceptible to blockages from sludge.

Gary Wilde, business development and marketing manager for Xylem Lowara UK, said: “10 to 15 percent of all domestic electricity consumption is caused by heating circulators. With strict legislation in place around this topic, we wanted to offer a simple solution which not only maintains our high standard of pump performance but also helps reduce the use of energy. The Lowera circulator is an efficient and environment friendly circulator with very quick payback time.”
