NG Bailey gains MCS solar accreditation

One of the country’s largest privately-owned engineering, IT and facilities services businesses, N G Bailey, has been awarded MCS accreditation, which means the company can undertake solar PV installations directly instead of subcontracting out the work.

Over the last few years, the company has gained a reputation for being at the forefront of sustainable developments in the construction industry. NG Bailey is investing significantly in its own estate to improve the sustainability of its offices, to both create better-performing buildings and use the properties as ‘test beds’ to benefit clients specifically.

Cal Bailey, NG Bailey’s sustainability director, said: “Renewable is energy is moving higher up the agenda each year as a consideration for constructing new buildings and renovating existing ones.

“Having MCS accreditation will benefit us in a number of ways, particularly when it comes to tendering for, and winning, contracts.

“For a while now we have to rely on third party contractors to install solar PV systems. This accreditation means our own teams can now undertake the installations ourselves.”
