Ardenham and ESI in heat pump link up

Renewables suppliers Ardenham Energy and environmental consultancy ESI have become partners in developing open and closed loop ground source heat pump projects.

Neil Lawson, Ardenham Energy’s head of renewable heat, said: “Ground source heat pumps are rapidly increasing in popularity, particularly due to the government’s Renewable Heat Incentive in the commercial market. But large scale projects are very complex and demand experience and expertise. For example, to develop a large scale heat pump project, you need a significant level of project engineering work in order to determine project feasibility and the optimal solution.

“By establishing a partnership ESI, Ardenham Energy can now can offer a full turnkey service providing all the relevant services in this emerging market, from feasibility studies and project financing through to installation, operation and maintenance. By working together, we can break into a part of the market which was previously limited to just a very few big companies, so that is great news for customer choice.”

ESI director Paul Ellis added: “This is a natural partnership which will allow us to deliver more and better large scale projects.  Ardenham Energy’s engineering capability, its national reach and its relationships with leading suppliers will help ESI expand our position in this sector and provide services to a broader client base.”
