Stiebel Eltron get domestic

Stiebel Eltron is launching a new ground source heat pump range onto the UK retrofit market.

The brine/water WPF27HT heat pump – which has just received MCS accreditation – is designed for domestic hot water heating. The company says its high flow temperatures up to +75 °C eliminate the need for an emergency/booster heater and with such high temperatures, even classic radiators are compatible in residential apartments and older commercial and industrial properties.

John Felgate, technical director at Stiebel Eltron UK, said: “We are very pleased to be able to launch the WPF27HT as its innovative technology and compatibility make it perfect for many buildings in the UK.

“It has been designed to the highest standards making it one of the most reliable and efficient ground source heat pumps on the market. The unit can be used in cascade operation for larger buildings but even then little space is required as they have been designed to stack safely on top of each other, with no impact on operation.

“This robust single compressor heat pump can easily be installed by means of a pallet truck or via lifting eyes, and a further positive is that the sound-optimised casing ensures an extremely quiet operation.”

Mr Felgate said that commercial projects which use the WPF27HT will also be able to claim back money through the government’s Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI), making it an attractive product for both energy and cost reduction.

“Over the past year more than two dozen Stiebel Eltron products have achieved MCS accreditation and we are delighted to be growing a diverse and flexible range of air and ground source heat pumps for our customers,” he added.
